About

Biography

I am an assistant professor at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Information Technologies in Talavera de la Reina, and secretary of the Department of Information Technologies and Systems. I do research on digital health and extended reality with the AIR group.

I received my PhD in 2021, cum laude and with international mention, with a thesis on immersive systems for learning to program supervised by Carlos González Morcillo and David Vallejo Fernández. I have been a visiting researcher at Leeds Beckett University (United Kingdom) and the University of Coimbra (Portugal).

In 2015 I co-founded Furious Koalas, a UCLM spin-off focused on gamification, serious games and interactive graphics applications, where I am managing director and CTO.

I was born in 1991 and grew up with floppy disks, dial-up modems and GeoCities pages. You can tell at the bottom of this site.

Feel free to write to me at santiago.sanchez@uclm.es or see the contact page.
